On November 14, 2022, a new software update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons became available for download.

You must download the latest update and be a member of Nintendo Switch Online, a paid service, in order to use online connectivity features.

Please make sure you have the same update version as the person you are playing with.

All players must be using the same version of the software to play together through Local Wireless Play or Online.

If the system is connected to the Internet and Auto-Update Software is enabled, the update will download and install automatically.

Save data will still be available for use after downloading the update.
